We are proud to have contributed to this remarkable project with our ALPGATE folding doors.
For a substation located at approximately 1,300 meters above sea level in the heart of the Alps, we delivered four custom-made folding doors, including some in very large dimensions, precisely tailored to the project’s requirements.
A key goal of the construction was to harmonize technology with landscape preservation. The new facility allows overhead power lines to disappear from the landscape – a significant step toward a more natural and unobtrusive design.
By using natural materials and prioritizing sustainability, the building blends seamlessly into its alpine surroundings.
The ALPGATE folding doors, around 6,600 mm high, were individually manufactured:
The lower sections (~2,200 mm) feature V-shaped, puncture-resistant, opaque aluminum ventilation louvers (E6/EV1) with excellent weather protection.
All doors include an integrated wicket door with a minimal threshold for maximum convenience.
The upper sections are made of 41 mm thick sandwich panels, with leaves, infills, frames, and hinges coated in RAL 9007 matt for a refined, cohesive look.
Delivered:
Two doors: 9,000 × 6,600 mm (W × H)
Two doors: 3,500 × 6,600 mm (W × H)
A special thanks to our Austrian colleagues for executing this project with exceptional professionalism and dedication.
