Designed by Steimle Architects in Stuttgart, the Überlingen Fire Station captivates with its unique, futuristic form—reminiscent of a landed UFO. The striking building blends clean lines, premium materials, and functional precision, embodying contemporary architecture at its finest.
The six ALPGATE folding gates are the building’s central visual and functional feature. Crafted from safety-insulated glass with solar protection, they follow a 2+2 opening scheme, offering maximum flexibility in minimal space. The ALPGATE façade reinforces the modern aesthetic, creating a sense of calm, presence, and cohesion.
Concealed drives preserve the building’s minimalist design, while the custom C33 color and seamless door-to-door panels add elegance. Special attention was given to the floor track installation, featuring integrated sealing and thermal insulation, ensuring durability and energy efficiency.
The new ALPGATE folding gates seamlessly combine technology, design, and longevity—meeting the highest functional standards while making a clear architectural statement for Überlingen’s fire station.
