A modern and functional building design was implemented for the new Caisse nationale de santé building in Luxembourg. The design was carried out by BLK2 Architekten of Hamburg. In addition to architectural clarity and high-quality materials, particular emphasis was placed on the technically sophisticated door solutions.
As the central institution of the Luxembourg healthcare system, CSS is responsible for the organisation and administration of health and long-term care insurance. Consequently, the requirements regarding functionality, security and integration into the architecture were particularly high.
The project involved the installation of several custom-designed ALPGATE gate systems, specifically tailored to the site’s layout and intended use.
A key feature is a large-format folding door with a central drive mechanism. The design allows for quick opening and, in its special bronze colour, blends harmoniously into the façade.
Another revolving door was installed in a glazed version (laminated safety glass) with a width of over seven metres. The frames are coated in RAL 8019. The design is complemented by specially developed guide rails, which ensure reliable operation even at this size.
Two revolving doors were installed at the entrances to the underground car park. The guide rails are suspended freely from brackets. This solution required greater effort in terms of planning and installation, particularly in coordinating the structural engineering with the installation conditions. The result is a custom-built structure that functions with precision.
